RESERVATIONS
POLICIES 
DEPOSIT :
- Deposit of one half total stay due at time of reservation. Balance due upon arrival.
CANCELLATION POLICY:
- $25 fee for cancellation 30 days or more prior to arrival.
- 1/2 deposit refunded for cancellation 14-29 days prior to arrival.
- Last minute cancellations and early departures due to inclement weather are not refundable.
- No refund if reservation cancelled within 14 days of reservation.
RATES:
- Printed rates cabins are based on up to four people(except Libby's and P.Patty's which are based on 6 people).
- Each additional person is $15 per night.
- Barkwells will not refund or prorate for early check-outs.
- Rates are subject to a 6.75% NC tax and a 4% Henderson County Occupancy Tax.
- Rentals over 90 days are not subject to tax.
- Rates are subject to change without notice.
- To guarantee your reservations a deposit is required.
PAYMENT:
We accept Cash, Personal Checks, Visa, Mastercard and
American Express.
PET DEPOSIT :
- Fully Refundable $100 pet deposit.
- One $50 nonrefundable dog fee for more than 2 dogs in a cabin.
- Pet deposits are waived for certified service or therapy dogs and competition agility dogs.
The pet deposit is fully refundable and we hope that you will respect our belongings and the comfort of our other guests. If you know your dog will be on the furniture, please bring a throw to protect our furniture. Understandably, if your pet causes any damage, you will be responsible for the full extent of replacement or repairs.
If we have guests who are uncomfortable with your pet, we ask that you make every effort to respect their feelings. Please be willing to work together to make this good experience for everyone.
- Dogs must be friendly with other dogs and people.
- All dogs must be current on their shots and provide proof of rabies protection.
- All dogs must be on active flea and tick prevention. Please do regular tick checks on your dog, especially in the spring and early summer.
- Please clean up after your pet. Bags are provided in the laundry room.
- Owner reserves the right to temperament test any dog who will be occupying the resort when other dogs are present and to refuse occupancy if the dog is aggressive to people or other dogs.
- Any guest whose dog(s) create unnecessary disturbance or engage in unsafe behavior may be asked to board their dogs elsewhere or leave at the discretion of Barkwells management. In such case no refund of any fees paid will be made.

POLICIES AND PROCEDURES::
- Check in time is 3:00pm and checkout is 11:00 am.
- Please keep gates closed in consideration of the safety of four-footed guests.
- Smoking is not permitted in the cabin.
- This is a housekeeping cabin. Linens will not be changed during your stay, but feel free to use the washer/dryer as needed.
- All garbage must be bagged.
- Please leave the cabin broom clean.
- Starters of coffee and bathroom toiletries are provided.
- Water activities in the lake or creek are conducted At Your Own Risk.
- Fish caught must be released or cleaned at the dock. Please leave the dock as you found it and dispose of fish remains properly.
- Barkwells cannot be responsible for any injury or damage due to wind, water, fire or the negligence of you or others.
- Please do not place anything other than toilet paper in the toilet. The septic system thanks you.
- No glass is to be used on the porch around the hot tub or on the grounds. Plastic only please for the safety of our guests.
- Fireplace must be turned off if no one is present in the room.
- Please do not put anything in spa or adjust the settings. Definitely don't sit on or damage the spa lid- those things are expensive!!!
- Please use the grill only on the pavement.
