What a wonderful place to spend our 45th anniversary! We had a great time. Thank you so much for a place where we could also bring our furbaby. We don't like to leave Muffy Joy so I was so excited when I found your place on the web. We toured the Biltmore House while she stayed at the cabin. We loved sitting out on the porch. Muffy Joy was so excited when she met Charlie from next door. We will definitely recommend Barkwells to all our pet loving friends.
We are so glad we found your little peace of heaven here in NC. All of our 4-legged children have had such a wonderful time playing on the 7 acres! The pond is such a great place for Sahara and Sam to get lost and play! We have to admit that just walking on the property was very relaxing.

What a delightful little home this was for a week! You thoughtfully provided everything for comfort. It was a paradise for my city bed puppy Sassy. She had never known such freedom and thoroughly enjoyed it. It was fun for her to have some dog friends.

Thank you for one of the best vacations we’ve ever had. It was so nice to be able to bring Lucas along knowing he would have a good time, too! In fact, Lucas has never been happier! He Loves it here. He loves being off a leash, running free, swimming with catfish(although he wasn’t quite sure about them at first!) , and having his very own “doggie condo” when we went out for a few hours. You’ve really thought of everything to make Barkwells a wonderful retreat for both dogs and their people. The cabin was beautifully furnished and equipped with everything. Thank you again! Merlin enjoyed his visit to Barkwells very much. He wanted me to let you know that he loved running around the property without a leash and he loved all the great hiking areas nearby. We, his parents, were so relaxed knowing Merlin was safe and sound at Barkwells that we were able to enjoy the charming towns of Hendersonville and Asheville. Our favorite thing about the cabin was the great big porch with the awesome view. We hope to come again. Thank you so much for starting this pet-friendly environment.

Thanks so much for a wonderful stay at Barkwells. I think Hallie had the best time of all playing in the kennel. At night, she snuggled on our laps in sheer exhaustion. Barkwells provided us with everything we needed: privacy, relaxation and much more. We were so secluded yet close to everything we wanted to explore. The Biltmore, the Blue Ridge Parkway, Downtown Hendersonville all within minutes away. We couldn't have picked a better place to spend Thanksgiving week. We've found it! Our perfect oasis in NC. We utilized every aspect of this wonderful property. Beautiful sunrises on the porch rocking chairs, movies by the fire, cold nights in the warm jacuzzi, roasting marshmallows in the firepit by the lake, paddleboating, feeding the geese and taking jogs around the lake. All with our favorite pal, our dog, Charlie. We are dreading having to leave, but are already planning a return! True visionaries you are, and for that we are grateful.
