 Thank you for a great introduction to western North Carolina. What a great place you have. It’s so nice to know that we can take a nice vacation and take our dog along. Cosmo had such a great time running around the 7 acres. And best of all he loved swimming in the pond. The cabin was great - very cozy. We look forward to a return trip. Thank you for providing a “home” away from home for us, Stanley and Rosie. It was wonderful to have all the amenities of home and be located close to the Agility Trials. We were pleasantly surprised to find so many things in the cabin to make life easier. The kitchen is so thoroughly equipped that we cooked as we do at home. We will be back and hope to stay longer and see some of the area. We will let our “dogs” friends know what a wonderful vacation this is for the family. Thank you for a great weekend. This trip began as a 23rd birthday present from my husband and the 1st child, Toby (the beagle) It has ended up being almost as memorable as our honeymoon. We always planned to have lazy weekends but have never been able to do so until we got here. Toby was so worried we were going tot send him to grandma’s and leave him – until he got to go in the backyard and run without a leash. It’s so comforting to know whenever we want to get away and know our little “boy” is welcome it s only a few hours away. Thank you for so great weekend! We‘ll definitely be back! Heather, Adam & Toby
We were a bit skeptical, but decided to skip the $64/day kennel cost and bring our 3 beasts – Gretchen, Zoe and Sophie. Well, their first vacation was heaven for them. And us? No regrets. What a fantastic place to get away. All of our comforts met and all details covered. We really loved it and hope to make the “family “ vacation a ritual. Thanks!  Thank you for such a wonderful place. We have never taken a vacation because we would not leave our children behind. Now we don’t have to with such a place like this. We all had a wonderful time, and none of us want to leave. Rawley the beagle loved running herself ragged every day, and was so tired she didn’t seem to miss us when we were sightseeing and shoping. The boys loved the paddleboat even if Rawley was a little afraid of it! The humans absolutely loved the hot tub, and the beautiful views. The cabin is lovely and so comfortable. If you can create a place where dogs, parents and eve a lone teenager have a perfect vacation, you’re doing something right! Hope to come back soon! Mark, Claire and Kyle and Rawley from Maryland
Barkwells was a wonderful place for us to spend some family time with our son and our four legged son. I think Blu enjoyed it the most and will be so disappointed when we get home to a backyard wityout a pond. The boys loved fishing off the dock even though they never caught a catfish. Snickers’ cabin was more than we expected – Barkwells was more than we expected.
The kids had the best time fishing for those huge catfish. We enjoyed the relation and family time.

Jake and Chico thought being able to run free all over the property was the best part of vacation. It was so nice to be able to leave the dogs at the cabin while we went sightseeing and shopping. We all enjoyed Biltmore and dinner out in Hendersonville at the Flight Wood Grill. Barkwells was a great internet find. Dennis, Judy, Cindy Gwen and Olivia, Jake and Chico.
What a wonderful place! The cabin is so cozy and not lacking for a thing. And Zoey (my baby- a chocolate lab) absolutely loves the pond and the fish. Barkwells was the perfect place to stay so Zoey and I could hike Pisgah NF. Thanks for everything- we’ll be back! Janet and Zoey
We all had such a wonderful time at Barkwells! Your place is so beautiful and it was so nice to be able to bring the girls and still be able to tour the town and see the sites! We enjoyed the property and the cabin accommodations were great. We don’t want to leave but we must return to the “real world”, so we will plan to come back and visit and come, sit and stay!!! Thank you so much for your hospitality! We had a great time at Barkwells! Camden (our labradoodle) has found her own piece of paradise and wants to become a country dog! While she usually is eager for car rides, once we arrived here, we literally had to pick her up to get her in the car. She has had a blast! We enjoyed the flexibility of having our “child” with us on vacation, but also being able to leave her here to go out on our own. What a wonderful place you have created!!! Wow! What a great property! A perfect place for our 5 mo old lab to play and make new friends. Even our 8 year old beagles felt like pups again. This is the perfect place for us to get some r & r. We will see you again soon! Tammy Barb, Shiloh, Solari and Eponin
We are so glad we found your cabins. This is our first trip with both labs and it’s been great not to have to worry about them in a kennel. We don’t have doggie doors at home so that has been so much fun for them, especially the Bany, Lucky, it’s like the greatest toy for him. We have really enjoyed it here – away from the hustle & bustle but still close enough to run places. Precious & Lucky loved the pond ( wish we had brought fishing poles ). The cabin has been very home-like and very comfortable for us. We will definitely recommend you to all of our friends with pets. Thanks for a wonderful get-away!
