Upon the hills of Barkwells bucolic, Our beloved babies ran and frlicked. With misty morns and crisp nights, Our two sweet dogs were lit with delight.   Around the pond and through the fields, Marlee and Buddy close at our heels, We remembered these days the family way, And so much enjoyed our Barkwells stay!   Thanks for a wonderful weekend! Barkwells is not only doggie heaven on earth but it is also a great place for R&R for their owners too. The cabins are so well appointed and comfortable. There is nothing that Ellen and Michael have not thought of to make visits there memorable. Their thoughtfulness abounds throughout the resort and all of us guests are so lucky to have found Barkwells. Thank you, Ellen and Michael. Although the weather was rainy – the visit was a breath of fresh air and sunshine! PERFECT get away – you and your dog – now that’s pretty close to HEAVEN! I honestly hadn’t relaxed like this in years – thanks so very much for creating such a wonderful setting! Mary & “Drew” I just wanted to let y'all know what a wonderful time we had this past week at Barkwells.  All of us had a ball.  The dogs got to be themselves & we didn't have to worry about them it was like being at home just with different scenery.  We will definetly come back & we had several friends who wanted to know what we thought of the place once we got back & we told them it was perfect :-) so more reservations will be coming y'alls way. Also thanks so much for having a crate for Nia to sleep in she used it every night.  This was our first vacation since we got the dogs (that was 2 yrs ago) so thanks for giving that option back to us because we do not want to kennel them.  Thanks for a perfect time:-) Your furever friends, Linda, David, Kody & Nia

Ahhh – soft summer breezes, the air reticent with the smell of sweetgrass – plush grass underfoot and a perfect lake and picnic grove. Our Zorrito Satonio blueheeler learned to jump in with unbridled enthusiasm chasing dragonflies into the water. He befriended all who met him. I had not seen him as alive and completely at home since he/we left the ranch a half year ago.   How refreshing. How divine! Barkwells is dog parque-extraordinaire – an image, an idea brought to fruition for canine lovers around the globe to enjoy – hopefully for many years to come.   In addition to dog paradise the entire cabin, landscaping, grounds and interiors are so beautifully, tastefully appointed. Attention to detail only enhances the experience for visitors.   We are thrilled to have been able to participate and enjoy this slice of paradise!   Thank you Barkwells forever— All the best to you and your family.
